' Star of Love '
by Thaddeus Hutyra

You're my everlasting light
shimmering through
so many stars
on the heavenly sky
You're my guidepost
throughout our love
and towards the shining stars
on the outskirts of the Universe
my starship flying me
to the parallel worlds
You're certainly my only love
like the Statue of Liberty
greater than life of all times
You're my bursting sparkle
erotic or otherwise
on warm nights
under the coat of the sky
with so many painted stars
shimmering endlessly
and on equally warm days
when we carry on our life duties
without ever loosing ourselves
out of our minds' eyes
You're my emotion
full of a poetic heartbeat
and you're mine wisdom
equalling that
of the greatest minds
there ever were in this world
My heart beats loudly
every time I see you
every time we touch each other
every time we make love
We're one, united
in our travel throughout
our pounding bodies
and even our soul
glistening like all the stars
put in one basket at once
brighter than life
overlapping not only our bodies
but also the whole universe
You're my beloved ode
to our love, the starry love

How many passionate discussions
did we have about love
our star guiding us
like the one which guided
Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph
on their way to Bethlehem
' What is love, what is love ? '
We had sometimes
a foolish question
but was it foolish
asking questions about love?
Despite that our minds
were burning alive ?
And all the wires in our brains
were on maximum load ?
Is love a cognitive
and social phenomenon?
Or comes love from God alone ?
Or just have a biological basis
a biological drive in other words
equivalent of hunger and thirst ?
Is love just lust, attraction
and attachment
or something much deeper
engulfing our souls
and even bringing our souls
closer to each other ?
What is love, what is love
there was even a song
sounding like that
So many scientists
expressed themselves on the topic
Helen Fischer, Robert Stenberg
Zick Rubin, Scott Peck, Erich Fromm
Jeremy Griffith and many others
The Beatles themselves
with their song
' All you need is Love '
Is love a passionate, caring
and a fundamental desire ?
Is love about intimacy
and passion thus ?
Is love a feeling only
or broader a commitment too ?

It looks we're all experts on love
and there is no need
to define it
because love is something special
belonging to each of us
so much individual
as much as on a global level
symbolized
by the Statue of Liberty
I think we all know
subconsciously at least
what is love
Wow, what is love
Just love, love love …
Oh, my darling, you're my
everlasting love
at the dawn and sunrise
in full sunshine
throughout a day
at mysterious dusk
under the shimmering stars
painted on the firmament
of the sky
You're my love, love, love ...
My mind is burning
on fire, a very wild one
no fire brigades
can quench this fire
the fire of love
turning itself
into a star
a star full of fire
The star of fire, indeed
which is burning deep
in my mind and my body
and as much in your mind
and your body
in our thirsty souls
and finally high there
on the shimmering nightly sky
full of shining stars
the stars of love
Our own star of love
the star on the sky
the star of love
seems to shine
the brightest way
Love never dies, my dear
just look at our star
the star of love
